Endocare, Inc. invented the first-ever Joule-Thomson Principle based Cryocare Surgical System in 1993. The system is designed to destroy various cancerous tissues by the application of extreme cold temperatures to ablation zones, i.e. targted cryoablation therapy (TCAP).
Endocare has initially concentrated on developing technologies for the treatment of prostate cancer. Over the year, these proprietary technologies have been found broad applications towards ablation of almost all types of solid tumors, e.g. lung, liver, prostate, kidney, brain and palliative intervention (treatment of pain in association with metastases)
